The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) is an exciting, unique, cultural collaboration between the EU Consulates and the Cultural Institutes of Toronto. It celebrates cinematic excellence with national and European award-winning films. For its 11th year, the official European Union Film Festival (EUFF), in Toronto - the globe’s most multicultural city, reflects the brilliance, innovation, and diversity of European film making.

EUFF was founded in 2004 to highlight and counteract the Hollywood monopoly on film making. It is a free festival screening around 30 electrifying contemporary films, drawn from across the EU's member countries. EUFF is a lively and diverse festival, which combines the distinct flavours of the EU Consulates with the tastes of the local cultural institutes’, creating the only festival of its kind in the world.

Participating EU Countries include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

In 2014, the Festival will be held exclusively at The Royal Cinema from November 15 – 30, 2014. It features Canadian premieres of European films, as well as showcasing national and international award-winning films. EUFF stimulates fantastic cultural collaborations and riveting dialogues between EU countries and Canada. By celebrating the diversity of EU cinema, in vibrant Toronto, it aims to support and raise awareness of exceptional, emerging and established filmmakers. Established in 2008, The European Union Film Festival Audience Award is presented to the film with the highest rate of audience votes.
